Darren is a
22 year-old BSocSc student, majoring in International Relations and Politics.
He directed the biggest university Model United Nations conference in South
Africa last year and is currently the Chairperson of the United Nations
Association of South Africa at UCT (UNASA-UCT). He is also the Sports and
Recreation Coordinator on the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) at UCT.
His intention is to read Post-graduate studies in either International
Relations or Law next year as he has a strong interest in the field of
International Relations and Co-operation. He firmly believes that if the
intellectual capital of the youth across the country is channelled towards
building on South Africa's current Foreign Policy, the role of South African
youth leadership on the domestic and international front could become a beacon
of hope, particularly throughout Global South relations.
Anastasia Katts is from the University of Cape Town.
Anastasia is
a 21 year-old post-graduate Law student at UCT. She majored in Law and History
in 2012. She is involved in SHAWCO and LAWCO, which are both student-run
community projects aimed at youth education and development in previously
disadvantaged communities in Cape Town. Her understanding of the current social
and political landscape of her country has influenced her ambition to
contribute to South Africa’s social wellbeing. As an aspiring diplomat, and
previous UCT Model United Nations participant, her greatest honour would be to
stand as a representative for her country in the international community.
Taymoon is
an 18 year-old Bachelor of International Relations student. He is currently the
Secretary General and Treasurer for the Fculty of Humanities. He is also a
union representative for the Muslim Student Association and a former
Undersecretary in community outreach for UNASA Pretoria. He is an active
debater in Model United Nations (MUN) conferences and enjoys community
outreach. On completing his studies, he intends to work towards becoming either
a minister or a diplomat for South Africa.

Ndivhuho is
a 26 year-old Masters student of Technology in Entrepreneurship. He is the current
Chairperson of the Capital City Junior Business Chamber (CCBC JR) at Pretoria
and is also a member of the TUT’s Department of People Management and
Development’s Advisory Committee. He is the Group Chief Executive Officer
(GCEO) of “Half Tiger Events and Coordination’s” which is an events organising
company that manufactures T-shirts. He is currently working as a Research
Assistant to the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Research, Innovation and Postgraduate
Studies at TUT. He was the Project Leader at Students in Free Enterprise
Tshwane University of Technology (SIFE TUT) in 2011, and in 2012 was appointed
the Acting Projects Coordinator.
Monde Nkosi works for Bain & Company.
Monde is a
22 year-old Associate Consultant at Bain & Company. He graduated from the
University of Cape Town with with a Bachelor of Business Science (Hons)
majoring in Finance. During university, he completed internships at Goldman
Sachs in London and at ABSA Capital and Investec in Johannesburg. He previously
led an organisation of over 800 members at the University of Cape Town that was
focused on preparing students for the professional world. He currently serves
on the Board of The Love of Christ Children’s Home, an organisation based on
the premise that every child deserves a family, and the opportunity to succeed
in life. He believes that the biggest issue facing his country is the
consistently high level of youth unemployment and is thus interested in
developing ways to effectively educate young people and equip them with the
skills to contribute meaningfully to a modern economy.
